July 30, 1967 - April 2, 1988

Twenty years ago on this day, my best friend died trying to help someone get out of a burning home.

Not a day has gone by that I haven't missed him.

Twenty. Years. My Gawd.

Though you, my dear reader, didn't know him ~ please remember my friend today. He's worth remembering.

See you on the other side, buddy.

If you have to go out young, what better way than being a hero? Respects and gratitude for his memory and hugs for you.

So sorry for your loss!!! Must have been an amazing person.

My Mom died in 1988 as well (and it was the same year I graduated from high school). It's hard to believe I have spent more years without my Mom then with her.

Many Blessings,
Debbie

Best Friends are so hard to come by, and how amazing that he risked his life to help another! That is beyond a friend. How lucky for you to have met such a wonderful person in your lifetime! He is protecting you and will always be there for you! Thanks for sharing that!!!

I am so sorry, clew.
Losing a loved one hurts. BAD. Though time has a way of healing, you never really get over it. And perhaps we're not supposed to.

Remembering this hero in your life...
