Lately, I haven't been myself. Not only have I been physically ill, but I've also had my feelings hurt a few times, am all-around pressed in my schedule and have been distracted in general. Hence, I'm found wanting for anything decent to post about this week.
It's times like these my little pea brain takes a mental vacation - usually into my own personal travel memories. Today is such a day.
In case you need ideas for your next big getaway, here are some suggestions of a few places I've been fortunate enough to experience. All are recipients of Clew's 5-Star Heaven on Earth Award. If you go, send me a postcard.
ARCHES NATIONAL PARK - Utah
You'll be hard pressed to find a more bizarrely breathtaking landscape. Surreal and saturating.
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK - Montana
Landscape so beautiful it will bring you to your knees. Absolutely stunning.
ST. LUCIA
The Polynesia of the Carribbean. Delicious.
ST. THOMAS, USVI
Yes, the colors really are this vibrant. Practically life sustaining.
VALLEY OF FIRE - Nevada
Blindingly beautiful red rocks on deep azure desert sky. Soul quenching.
YELLOWSTONE - Wyoming
So well known it's practically a cliche. But after three days there I could have stayed another month and not had enough.
Thank You God for this beautiful world I get to live in! Just knowing these places remain comforts me, as if reassuring me that I can and will one day return. At each I left a little piece of me, and my heart searches for these missing fragments as I revisit once more.
Having a great time - wish you were here!

Clew, half of these look like pictures right out of your scrapbook. Sadly, I haven't been to a one of them. I'll have to live vicariously through you.
Ahhh....more places to add to my list of places I must visit someday.
Okay, girl, just set up the tour. I'm in! :o)
Great pics. I always wanted to go to St. Thomas. *sigh* *sigh*
Are you seeing Jamaica in the moonlight?
Clew, did you take all these pics yourself? They are breathtaking....I especially like Glacier National Park (the rainbow is beautiful)
All of those places are awesome! I see you've been doing some more blog hacking too. :) As pathetic as this may sound, I used to let the bird sit on my shoulder while he and I surfed the Internet pretending to go on a vacation. You know, I would tell him about our destination and show him the images on the monitor and he would talk back. I know, I'm a little strange. :)
Anyway, it was good to get away today and all I had to do was visit your blog.
Sorry you've had your feelings hurt - and sick and swamped at the same time - ugh. It's nice to have places to visit in your mind when in times like this, isn't it?!!
What beautiful pictures! I looked at them as I hear the strong gusts of wind slamming the rain against my window. I wish I was at any one of these places right now.
Beauteous photos. Hope they jolt you out of your flu and funk.
I finally "got" clewsblues (duh). Are you blue because Steve is gone? Loved him. New guy? Not so much. But how 'bout that Anthony Wiggle, eh?
I love the saints (Lucia and Thomas). In fact, an old college chum of mine has a ferry svc. based in St. Thomas. But then, I'm prejudiced and highly partial to the tropics.
I have never been to a single one of these places.
But the two "saints" look the most appealing to me!! :)
Wow!!! Those all look like gorgeous places to visit. Great pics!! The only one I've been to is Yellowstone.
