Visions

A friend of mine has a gift. She senses things she cannot possibly know by means other than intuition. She becomes aware of conditions and worries simply being in proximity to others who are burdened. She also dreams things. Things that come true. Things that could be considered warnings or premonitions. She’s had the gift since she was a little girl, but in recent years the gift has become stronger. She dreams of people in her life or the lives of those she knows having illnesses, often undiagnosed, or of troubles on their minds they had not disclosed to anyone.

A girl we grew up with had an older sister who had cancer several years ago. She went through treatment and in time was pronounced clear of the cancer. She has since maintained a normal life. However, our friend has been appearing to my friend in her dreams and was wearing her sister’s wig that she wore while undergoing chemotherapy. Our friend didn’t speak, but continually pointed to the wig with urgency.

This dream is different, though. Our friend who was trying to get a message to her was murdered a few years ago.

My friend dreamt this same event over and over. She told me she had not been thinking of this girl nor anyone or anything to do with her. She’s wondering if our friend was trying to deliver the message that her sister’s cancer has returned and needs to be tipped about it.

My friend is a Christian and believes this to be a gift from God meant to help others. I agree with her. I’ve known this woman nearly all my life, and I know firsthand that her gift has always been uncannily accurate. In fact I’ve never known her premonitions to be wrong. But she has never had a vision involving someone who is dead.

She doesn’t know what to do with it.

I didn’t know what to tell her.

Oh my gosh...I'm speechless. I got goosebumps reading this. I don't know what to say.

my mom had this gift.

tell her to write down her dreams in a journal. Keep it by her bed to write stuff down in the middle of the night.
My mom was a christian too... a minister's wife. She would pray about her dreams, which were at times, extremely prophetic. If she felt the leading of the spirit she would give a warning to those involved. But if God doesn't tell you to do this...don't. It won't be received well...

I would love to have this gift. My mom has always fascinated me in this area.

Fascinatingly eerie. Was this spurred my my dream I told you about?

As one who has had visions... it may be the sister's cancer. Or-- I truly don't want to be alarmist-- but maybe your friend should have herself checked. That was the interpretation that struck me first.

I agree with bainwen. That was my impression, too. I'm not sure that I would want this gift...but it is fascinating.

I've missed reading you...life is way too busy right now, but I'll be "back" as soon as I can! Hugs...

Nelly - pretty wild, huh?

Neo - I agree with you completely. Great insight friend - thank you for visiting & sharing!

Speckledpup - thats AMAZING about your mom! I'd love to talk with her about that for oh, about a hundred hours! My friend does journal, btw. Good tip!

NNM - I e'd you about this comment in more detail - no but it's a strange coincidence.

Bainwen and Lori - that thought hadn't occurred to me. Something I hadnt put in my post, my gifted friend has suffered a very serious disease unrelated to cancer in recent years, and since that affliction her gift has intensified. Perhaps the wig was the best way our friend could communicate the idea to her and it may not have to do with her sister. Interesting thought -

(miss you too Lori, I'll see ya around soon!)

Welcome, Mountain Mama! Any friend of BWH's is a friend of mine! :)! Same as I said to the Pup, that's amazing about your gift. My friend does indeed give all glory to God. She is sometimes cautious to share her visions though, as many people find her gift unnerving. She does not get along well with the parents of these women so she is understandably troubled with delivering the possibility of the message ...

~ thanks everyone!

This is yoru best one... This one and the one you wrote about the "Spirits" and how they exist and we may see them, get signs. These are the best. And, these are the ones that most inspire MY writing... :)

I think Neo. He has a great point of view and he says it so well. I am with Bainwen and Lori as well. That was my first thought, too.

Tell her to do what her heart tells her to do...it won't steer her wrong....

That's a beautiful gift she's got. I think it is anyway....
