Spring?

Mother Nature is cruel.

Two days ago it was 81 degrees here. We were wearing shorts and even sweating. In fact it had been beautiful for quite a while. Trees were budding, flowers were blooming, birdies were singing and courting. Life was beautiful. Then Monday night a storm front rolled through, and Tuesday it was winter again. I mean it was really winter. And yesterday? It SNOWED! My tulips are ready to bloom and my redbud is loaded with its cute little magenta flowers - and there’s snow on the ground today. Which means tulip petals and redbud flowers on the ground tomorrow.

That’s just mean.

The thing is, this happens every year. Every year the sweet blossoms of a new year are allowed to poke their little heads out, and we are all lulled into a false sense of security before our butts are all frozen off again. So many gardens, blooming perennials, and flowering trees are ruined every year, and the window we are allowed in which to enjoy it before the elements sabotage it all is very tiny. Why am I still here?

There was some miscellaneous trivia in the paper today that I’ve had on my mind. One is that something like six hundred million Peeps are consumed each Easter. Are you kidding me right now? Peeps are cute and all, especially the bunnies - but they’re nasty. They’ve got to be the fruitcake of Easter. Everyone buys them and gives them but no one really eats them. Actually I do know someone who loves them. But only one person. I can’t believe ANYONE likes them. The only thing grosser than a Peep is a Circus Peanut. Remember those? Nasty!

The other is that 76% of people eat the ears of a chocolate bunny first. I find this a conservative number. I mean, what would one eat first if it weren’t the ears? The toes? The tail? Who in their right mind would eat the tail first?

If I don’t see you, have a great Easter weekend!

I love Peeps! But I have renamed them to Meeps (it rolls of the tongue better). They are best old, stale and hard. I buy a package or two every Easter and open them up andlet them get stale before I eat them.

Snow? Man that's terrible, it was in the eighties yesterday and now it's in the fifties. What's up with this weather? Peeps - yeah I hate those things too, ironically my five year old loves them and wants the Easter Bunny to leave him two packs of pink ones this year. I think the Bunny will magically forget those this year! Happy Easter!

I'm not into Peeps either. I don't eat chocolate bunnies. The chocolate is like to me not as good or something. I do like the Reese's peanut butter eggs. Now that's some good stuff! This weather is rough on the body too. Tuesday it was mid 80's and today it is 50! Geesh! We didn't get any snow - thank goodness!

Happy Easter! Hugs!

HA! It seems the weather is the topic of discussion today...I just came from Marties blog and she posted about the weather and I posted about the weather to earlier this morning!

I'm not a fan of Peeps either but the Circus Peanuts? I LOVE those!!
I haven't had one in FOR-EVER tho.

Happy Easter, Sis!

those are nasty things ... amazing what people eat ... wonder if they're basing their numbers on purchases rather than those actually consumed? still gross :)

yep - it's the ear!

It snowed here yesterday briefly, too. It was kinda fun because I knew it wouldn't last...but I'm ready for the warmth again, especially for Easter.

Peeps are tolerable, but I can't remember the last time I had one. I'm with you on the circus peanuts, though...gross! And I'll take a chocolate bunny any way I can eat it!

Happy Easter, Clew!
